Based on Debian bullseye snapshot from February 12th, 2021 with additional bug- and security fixes.
Most notable, CVE-2021-30465 in the runc component has been fixed.
Comes with Docker version 20.10.5 with Linux cgroup v2 support which has however been disabled to support older Kubernetes versions.
The AWS image has been improved by properly configuring available time servers and setting of the correct clock source based on the hypervisor that is being used (see https://aws.amazon.com/premiumsupport/knowledge-center/manage-ec2-linux-clock-source/).
Native WireGuard support has been added with this release.
